Essential Oils

Certain essential oils are proven to boost mental clarity, concentration, and focus. Scent varieties like peppermint, frankincense, rosemary, sandalwood, and many more are preferred. This natural method has been used for years. Lately, they have gained popularity again and for a good reason.

They’re easy to use as well. You may choose to employ a diffuser. The beautiful scents will emanate throughout your home. They may also be applied topically or worn in a necklace. Find out more about essential oils

Meditation

Meditation is an incredible way to focus your mind. Studies prove that it improves clarity, focus, awareness, and relaxation. Start by taking 5 to 10 minutes each day for yourself. Sit or lay down in a comfortable position. You may choose from several guided meditations on the internet, or just put on some relaxing music. Clear your mind and be aware of your thoughts. Do this every day for better concentration. Learn more about mediation.

Diet

Although it is rarely mentioned in standard medicinal practices, diet plays a huge role in the functions of the brain. Several foods contain ingredients that improve clarity and concentration. Foods that contain zinc are especially helpful. Zinc increases cognitive abilities and memory formations. Healthy breakfast cereals that are full of whole grains are an excellent source of zinc. Caffeine is also beneficial in small doses. A few cups of coffee or tea should suffice. Learning more about brain healthy diets can help you find the best foods to eat.

Supplements

Herbal supplements like ginsengginkgo biloba, ashwagandha, and others help increase mental focus. They are also proven to boost brain power and productivity. There are no natural food sources for these plants but they are added to a lot of energy drinks and teas. However, many are available in supplement form as well. Herbs have been used to treat several health issues for thousands of years. Their utilization was especially prominent in ancient Chinese health practices. Aside from herbs, there are also beneficial compounds that you can take to boost natural levels of them in your body, like redox, omega-3s, and SAM-e.

Puzzles

It’s true that if you don’t use it, you lose it. Brain puzzles aren’t just for kids anymore. Studies show they will improve memory retention, concentration, and your ability to focus. Take some time to practice puzzles each day. Most importantly you will notice a difference rather quickly. Crosswords, word finders, sudoku, and soma cubes are all wonderful examples of puzzles that can help.

Consequently, a lack of concentration can be stressful, but there are fun ways you can help yourself. Essential oils, meditation, diet, supplements, and puzzles are all proven to be useful. Try any or all of these natural methods to improve your mental focus.

  1. I have learned that certain foods do enhance my focus. I completely agree and meditation is great for mental clarity and I am just now getting into incorporating essential oils to gain more mental focus. Thank you for sharing these tips!

  2. Thanks for this post. I really love that you mentioned puzzles. I play a puzzle game on my phone almost daily changing it up between games. My husband always gives me a hard time about playing the games but I really feel like playing the puzzles help my memory. It’s funny, he is terrible at directions and packing and always defaults those tasks to me and when I am able to figure it out he usually goes “hmmm, it’s because you always play those games.” lol. Definitely sharing this on social media.

  3. Nice ideas. One of the other things I was thinking about when you mentioned puzzles were those adult coloring books that have been super popular the last few years.
